Route 2 is covered in a lot of pink trees of varying colour, with one more remarkable tree, Cherry Blossom Tree, around the center. Immediately north of this is the Kecleon Merchant, which functions like a Pokémart. A river that flows from Route 3 and River's End from the north crosses through the center, and exits at the east. It is currently unknown where it leads. At the southwest is the Train Station leading from East Gearen City, with a small pond immediately south of it. To the northwest is an RV which currently houses a Painter.
The tall grass on this route comes in two colours: green and pink, which reflects on the nature around it. Scattered around the route are rocks that can be smashed with Rock Smash, small trees that can be removed with Cut, and special trees that can be shaken with Headbutt for wild Pokémon encounters.
From Route 2, the player can access: River's End by surfing north from the northernmost bridge; Amethyst Cave through the cave entrance in the northeastern part of the route; and East Gearen City by taking the train in the southwestern part of the route.

The Kecleon Merchant can be found north of the Cherry Blossom Tree. It becomes important in the "Fetch an Item!" Help Request. A table of its shop contents can be found below. After becoming the Champion in the Online Virtual League it offers the other 2 starter Crests the player didn't choose for a hefty price.

During Day time, a horde of Aipoms can be found dancing around the Cherry Blossom Tree, those later will be replaced by their evolution Ambipom after obtaining the fifth badge.
After the player acquires the fifth badge, a Lady on the bench by the train stop will ask to trade a Spinda for one of her Chikoritas.
The player can have access to a group of Whimsicott after handing over the Research Notes to the Maniac blocking the bridge path east of Amethyst Cave.
